Roulette is of French origin and was first played in New Orleans. The Roulette wheel has numbered pockets ranging from 00 to 36. Roulette uses a special wheel, a betting layout, and chips. If you are playing at a roulette table with a 5 dollar minimum, you are required to place 5 dollars on each of your outside bets, and-or a total of at least 5 dollars on your inside bets. The sections are numbered from 1 to 36, (half red and half black, half odd and half even) plus a green section marked 0. The marked area of roulette is called the game layout, and you may place bets on any particular number, any 4 adjacent numbers, a column or a dozen
bet. The wheel determines the outcome of a roulette game. After all bets are placed, the roulette Dealer spins the wheel in one direction and the
ball in the opposite direction. If the dreaded 00 is spun, the House keeps all the bets. The winning roulette number is marked by the Dealer. After the roulette wheel stops the dealer will then mark the winning number on the betting area and the bets are paid accordingly. After all payoffs have been made, the Dealer will announce "Place your bets. You should remember to exchange the colored non-value Roulette chips for valued gaming chips prior to leaving a particular Roulette table.
When you finish beating the house at roulette, you will have to ask the dealer to "color out" for you, the dealer will then take your chips and give you casino checks which you may then use on other games or cash out at the cashier.
