Roulette translated literally means "small wheel" and is one of the oldest casino games played today. The American roulette is divided in to 38 slots,
numbered 1 through 36, plus 0 and 00. A European roulette wheel has
the numbers 1-36, plus a slot for zero. The zero and double zero numbers are in green and on opposite sides of the wheel, the colors
and odd/even numbers alternate, and the numbers themselves are randomly distributed. The marked area of roulette is called the game layout, and you may place bets on any particular number, any 4 adjacent numbers, a column or a dozen
bet. If the roulette ball lands in the 0 slot, the game ends and all players receive half their original bets back. In roulette you can place bets until the ball leaves the track and falls onto the spun wheel. The winning roulette number is marked by the Dealer. Roulette does not move at a quick pace, it is for a more relaxed crowd than you are likely to find at the
craps table. Once the roulette ball has found its slot, the dealer will call out the winning number and place a marker on that number's spot on the layout. You should remember to exchange the colored non-value Roulette chips for valued gaming chips prior to leaving a particular Roulette table.
When you finish beating the house at roulette, you will have to ask the dealer to "color out" for you, the dealer will then take your chips and give you casino checks which you may then use on other games or cash out at the cashier.
