Roulette translated literally means "small wheel" and is one of the oldest casino games played today. The standard American casino roulette wheel contains two green slots: 0 and 00 (many European wheels eliminate the 00, which creates more favorable odds for players) The French roulette wheel is divided into 37 slots, numbered 1 through 36, plus 0, there is no 00. The zero and double zero numbers are in green and on opposite sides of the wheel, the colors
and odd/even numbers alternate, and the numbers themselves are randomly distributed. Each Player has a different colored set of non-value Roulette chips, determined by his/her purchase. The roulette chips are worthless at the other tables in the same casino, so do not
bother trying to stack them under your blackjack chips or anything foolish like that. Once the bets have been placed on the roulette table, the wheel starts spinning and a small ball is released on to the wheel in the opposite direction of the spinning wheel. If the dreaded 00 is spun, the House keeps all the bets. Losing roulette bets are collected and winning bets are paid. Once the roulette ball has found its slot, the dealer will call out the winning number and place a marker on that number's spot on the layout.
When you finish beating the house at roulette, you will have to ask the dealer to "color out" for you, the dealer will then take your chips and give you casino checks which you may then use on other games or cash out at the cashier.
