Roulette uses a special wheel, a betting layout, and chips. Roulette players can bet on one, two, three, four or six numbers; or they can choose to bet red or black; high or low; odd or even. Before you get confused,
standard American roulette rules have the table use different chips than other table games at the same casino. In a casino, the person who spins the wheel is called a croupier. All roulette players place their bets. The dealer spins the roulette wheel in one direction and the small ball in the opposite one. Winning bets are determined by the numbered slot in which the ball comes to rest. Numbers 1-18 are considered the
lows numbers, 19-36 are the highs. After the roulette wheel stops the dealer will then mark the winning number on the betting area and the bets are paid accordingly. After all payoffs have been made, the Dealer will announce "Place your bets. You should remember to exchange the colored non-value Roulette chips for valued gaming chips prior to leaving a particular Roulette table.
When you finish beating the house at roulette, you will have to ask the dealer to "color out" for you, the dealer will then take your chips and give you casino checks which you may then use on other games or cash out at the cashier.
